my approach

working together

Learning how to become bigger than today is the ultimate superpower: it sustains and fuels your best possible contribution in all aspects of your life.

In our work together, I’ll share deliberate actions you can take that lead to a continuous cycle of seeing, growing, and being bigger.

We will apply these to where you are today, and the goals you want to achieve, so you can see this cycle come to life, and experience its impact.

Importantly, in the process, you will be equipped with new practices and habits to enable you to continue to develop deeply beyond our work together.

see yourself and your world with new perspectives

Seeing yourself as you truly are—and knowing how others experience you—is hard. It can be harder still to see your unique potential. It can also be challenging to maintain a current view of what others really require of you in your role, especially amidst constant change—what lies between the lines of your job description, or may remain unsaid. I can help you bring together a clear, insightful picture which provides a new, broader way of seeing yourself and your world. From there, we can target your greatest growth opportunity—the one that brings you closest to the contribution you most want to make.

grow deeply, overcoming barriers to change

Once we’ve identified your target growth area—that ‘one big thing’ that will make the greatest difference to you—we can work toward creating tangible shifts. While some change may be possible with an injection of ‘above the surface’ skill, it can be the mindsets and assumptions ‘below the surface’ that present the greatest opportunity for growth. For this deeper work, I use the Immunity to Change coaching methodology, which elegantly uncovers the real reasons for our ‘stuckness’, and provides an avenue for beginning to become ‘unstuck’, using simple, low-risk tests on the job. This is when you’ll start to see and experience real change from the inside out—in what you think and feel, as well as what you do.

be intentional in the way you lead and learn

While you and those around you will see shifts in behaviour and different results, much of what you learn and do in our work together will be invisible to others. You’ll become masterful at self-observation, compassionately curious about the times your behaviour doesn’t line up with what you want it to be, and better able to see patterns where you’re ‘hooked’ into certain reactions, and how you can ‘release’ yourself. Most importantly, you’ll learn ways to regulate your responses so they are more in line with your intent, rather than reacting in ‘default’ ways that work against you. As you practise these things over time and reflect on the new results you’re seeing, you’ll integrate what you’re learning into new, bigger perspectives on yourself and your world.
